The Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation is a private corporation registered in the State of Georgia. AVLF holds a tax-exempt non profit status, also known as a 501(c)3 status, so that charitable contributions made to the Foundation are tax deductible.
AVLF is funded by a number of generous grants from the Atlanta Foundation, the Ida Alice Ryan Charitable Trust, the Mary Allen Lindsey Branan Foundation, the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers Foundation, the Atlanta Bar Foundation & Lawyer Referral Information Service, and the Administrative Office of the Courts.
Atlanta's law firms, corporate legal divisions and private attorneys are also especially supportive of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, participating in organized fundraisers that benefit the Foundation and making other contributions.
Yet AVLF's need for financial assistance from private sources has never been more acute. In the last fiscal year, in the face of a loss of federal grant funds and an increase in the number of eligible clients, AVLF was able to maintain all pro bono programs only because of an increase in private contributions and an increase in the number of volunteer attorneys. AVLF will always work to make certain that quality, free legal resources are available to the citizens of Fulton County who are eligible for our services, but, realistically, our ability to do so will always be directly related to our ability to raise private funds.
If you wish to make a donation to AVLF, we welcome your contribution in any amount. Please mail donations to the AVLF office at 235 Peachtree Street NE, Suite 1750, Atlanta, Georgia 30303, Attention: Martin Ellin. If you prefer to use your credit/debit card, please consider making an online donation using the "donate" button below.
We are most grateful for the support of so many, and welcome your participation!
